Meg Poveromo is a director, producer, writer and actress known for her vibrant aesthetic, niche brand of comedy and character-driven storytelling within her films.
Currently residing in Atlanta, Georgia, Meg originally hails from South Florida. She seeks inspiration for her films from people she’s met along the way as well as a humorous take on lived experiences.
Meg graduated from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale in 2018 and released her first experimental short film, Welcome to Cecilies, in 2019. In January of 2020, Meg and three of her friends were at a read-through for a short film that Meg was co-producing alongside of them when they joked about starting their own production company as a far-off pipe dream. Unemployed Idiots was born shortly thereafter.
Meg and her production company co-founder, Theo, went on to write and produce Sour Apple Bath Bombs and the first portion of a two-part series, Toxic Shock.
Sadly, Theo passed away in January of 2022 before the latter project could be completed. Meg went on to incorporate Unemployed Idiots Film Productions and see the dream to fruition.
She single-handedly operates Unemployed Idiots with a portfolio that includes several short films, a two-part web series and a feature film.
Meg’s newest project is The Box Trap, a feature-length comedy movie, that will be available on Amazon and Fandango at Home August 7th, 2026.
